How this long hair chihuahua reacted to not having seen me for a year and a half.
The songs lyrics really have nothing to do with what's going on, but I think the music itself fits quite well.
Given the new Chihuahua VOX Group, I thought I'd throw up a quick profile on Benjamin - includes a photo and video that some may have already seen, apologies!
He's long hair, and my parent's dog - though I call him my own as I've spent the majority of his twelve year life with him. He's been through three knee reconstruction's, twice on his back left leg and once on his back right leg. As a pup, a metal rake fell and cracked his skull - thankfully he's alright! It was my fault it fell, I was rather young and felt extreme guilt.
We were meant to end up with a black and white Chihuahua, but he was killed by a Jack Russell as a pup. I feel sorry for him, but I'm glad we ended up with Ben. He's full of humour and loves walks, dinner time, going for drives, being photographed and opening his own Christmas present:
For the twelfth consecutive year in a row, Benjamin waits impatiently to open his own present.
I think I've decided to start utilising VOX as my main blog. I never really became overly familiar with my gallery2 setup and as I've been out of the web des and dev scene for sometime, I haven't really a lot of motivation to set myself up well. So I think, by jumping to VOX, I may start posting more photographs and now as I've managed to dig deeper into the Adobe production suite, videos.
As you'll see by the following image, Benjamin has been the target for the camera, after all, I have to have something to show the people back in Montréal.
So far, I've started to realise that seven weeks in Australia, with five of that spent in Western Australia where I visit only Perth and Bremer Bay, ends up becoming a little boring. Fortunately I've managed to get into video editing as mentioned above, but I think for my next return (looking a lot like xmas 2008, so far away!) I'll start off in Queensland and drive myself through to Melbourne and Adelaide before coming back, maybe a quick stop over in Perth then fly on out to the cold again.
It does seem like wasted time, as I have met people overseas who've often seen more of Australia than I. Maybe I'll take three or four months off next time and do a proper road trip around the place? One thing I've learnt is that I wouldn't want to be doing it alone, I want to be showing it to someone along the way. Perhaps it's just that I see it as a lovely outback and others wouldn't, but seeing some of the photos my sister has taken along her path, surely some foreigner would be interested in seeing it with me.
